sunday morning coffee

Thank God for the Hollys Coffee in my church building. This place is always crowded with people after service – mostly people I know from church. Although it’s nice bumping into people I haven’t seen for a while, it’s hard to stay focused on my work. A few weeks ago, my friend and I discovered a new Hollys Coffee that opened recently right across from my church building with comfy seats and free internet service. By noon, that place, too, however, gets crowded – the only difference is that I don’t know those people personally.

Today is a bit different. I came here a bit early to work on my AP World History worksheet (my mom would kill me if she found out that I’ve been putting this off the entire lunar break). It’s so peaceful because there are a total of five people on the second floor right now. I feel like I’m at a library where no one breaks the silence, but there’s no written rule or a watchful librarian telling us to be quiet. The soft guitar that plays is the only “real” sound. It’s rare being in such a silent cafe, but it’s nice to work in this temporary quietness. i feel so much better after drinking this latte – I was so tired that I went back to bed after breakfast and my mom had to literally shake me fifty times to wake up and take a shower.

I better get to work before more people start arriving. Still can’t believe school starts tomorrow.
